CentSight's pre-seed round appears in StrictlyVC's daily roundup

StrictlyVC is the daily newsletter from Connie Loizos, the longtime TechCrunch editor whose evening briefing has become required reading across the venture industry. Partners, principals, and analysts open it to see what moved that day — which funds raised, which deals closed, and which new companies just entered the map. When a round makes the briefing, it lands in front of the people who decide where capital goes next.

The June 25 issue listed CentSight in its Smaller Fundings section. The note covered the essentials: a Lakewood, Ohio company using AI to help small and mid-sized businesses understand cash flow, expenses, revenue, profitability, and other financial trends, backed by a $1.5M pre-seed round from Mudita Venture Partners.

That's the whole mention — two lines — and that's exactly the point. StrictlyVC readers scan hundreds of rounds a week. What a listing like this does is put CentSight on the radar of investors who track where financial software is heading, at the moment the category is getting interesting. AI applied to company finances is one of the most closely watched areas in venture right now, and the funds reading StrictlyVC are actively mapping it.

For CentSight, the timing matters as much as the audience. The round announced in that issue is the same one funding the public launch: a financial intelligence platform that connects to QuickBooks and your bank, answers owners' questions in plain English, and monitors the numbers continuously through Signals, its proactive alert system.

Founder and CEO Gerald Hetrick built CentSight for operators running $1M–$50M businesses — the companies large enough to have real financial complexity but rarely able to justify a full-time finance executive. Gerald knows the segment as an operator himself; his previous company, Able, was acquired by Bullhorn in 2023. The investors reading StrictlyVC know how large that market is. Now CentSight is on their map.
